About the Sabot Institute
The Sabot Institute for Teaching and Learning was established as a professional development center for educators and schools, offering a variety of ways for teacher-researchers to deepen their understanding and refine their practice. Rooted in the principles of social constructivism, the Institute provides training, consultancy, and digital resources to enhance the quality of the learning experience for children and adults.
Our vision is to serve as a leading educational center for professional development, transforming education by empowering educators to create learner-centered, relationship-focused classrooms that generate authentic co-creation.
Our mission is to provide high-quality, research-informed professional development grounded in social constructivism, equipping educators with the skills and mindsets to foster creativity, agency, collaboration, and critical thinking among learners.

A Refreshing Approach in the Classroom
“Education is not a preparation for life; education is life itself.” – John Dewey
Dewey’s words fuel our thinking about our educational approach. It is our objective to develop the educational environment necessary to support the promise and potential of all learners – an environment that will engage the turned-on learner and that will, at the same time, ignite the passions of students who can become turned on to learning. At Sabot, the learner is a member of a democratic community that supports collaboration so that children, teachers, staff members, and parents gain understanding together. In our approach, everyone teaches and everyone learns.
The Sabot Institute for Teaching and Learning offers several ways for educators to deepen their craft. Explore these pages and sign up for our newsletter to learn more about our events and consulting services.
