Admissions for 2026-2027

At Sabot School, we look forward to getting to know your family as you explore joining our community. Our admissions process is personal and family-friendly, designed to help us understand each child while giving families a meaningful look at the Sabot experience.

APPLICATION NOTIFICATION DATES AND DEADLINES

Preschool Notification Date: February 13


Kindergarten Notification Date: February 20


Grades 1-8 Notification Date: February 13


Tuition Assistance Application Deadline:  January 1


Sabot accepts applications throughout the school year. Priority consideration is given to applications received by January 1.  Decisions about applications submitted after the deadline will continue on a rolling basis, as space allows.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION & APPLICANT VISIT

Requirements for students applying to Preschool

Students applying to Preschool  must turn two by September 30 of their enrollment year.


Required Documentation

Student records and recommendations are not required for preschool applicants.


Applicant  Visit

Preschool applicants are scheduled in small groups for a visit in January. The children participate in various activities with other candidates and members of our preschool faculty. 


We do not require any outside testing; however, if we feel more information would be useful to the process, additional testing or test results may be requested.


Requirements for students applying to Kindergarten - Grade 5

Students applying to Kindergarten must turn five by September 30 of their enrollment year.


Required Documentation


  • Applicants for Grades K - 5 are required to submit one teacher recommendation.
  • Applicants for Grades 1 - 5 are required to submit records from their previous school.

Applicant Visit


  • Kindergarten and Grade 1 applicants are scheduled in small groups for a visit in early spring.. The children participate in various activities in the classroom.
  • Applicants for Grades 2 - 5 participate in a shadow day and experience a full day as a part of the Sabot community.

Assessment


  • Applicants for Kindergarten - Grade 3 participate in an informal, activity-based assessment during their applicant visit.
  • Applicants for Grades 4 - 5 participate in an online, adaptive screening, which is administered on the afternoon of their applicant visit.

We do not require any outside testing; however, if we feel more information would be useful to the process, additional testing or test results may be requested.


Requirements for students applying to Grades 6 - 8

Teacher Recommendations


  • 6th grade applicants submit one teacher recommendation.
  • 7th and 8th grade applicants submit four teacher recommendations, one from each core subject area (math, science, language arts, and social studies).

Applicant Visit


Grades 6-8 applicants are paired with a peer mentor and experience a full day as a part of the Sabot community. 


Assessment


Grades 6-8 applicants participate in an online, adaptive screening, which is administered on the afternoon of the applicant visit date.  


We do not require any outside testing; however, if we feel more information would be useful to the process, additional testing or test results may be requested.

TUITION & TUITION ASSISTANCE


Families interested in applying for financial assistance can explore Sabot’s Tuition Assistance Program, which uses the secure and user-friendly Clarity platform to assess need. This process helps ensure that a Sabot education remains accessible to a wide range of families.


Tuition Assistance forms should be submitted at the same time as the Application form.


Tuition Assistance grants will arrive under separate cover within a day or two of enrollment notification. Applications submitted after the deadline will be considered on a funds-available basis.
