A Sabot Summer offers a full-day, child-centered, and thoughtfully structured summer experience for children from preschool through grade 8. Across our Day Camps, Specialty Camps, and Summer Studies programs, campers spend their days on our campus and in nearby Larus Park, engaged in hands-on exploration and collaborative, creative work. Grounded in the freedom of classic summer play, the experience feels expansive, welcoming, and alive all season long.

Our programs are intentionally designed to support working families who are looking for dependable hours and a full-day option. With consistent daily rhythms and flexible scheduling across programs, A Sabot Summer balances what children need to thrive with the practical realities families navigate during the summer months.

Our Camp Experience

A Sabot Summer makes the most of our beautiful campus   and its proximity to Larus Park. Our grounds offer multiple playgrounds, a soccer field, a community garden, and plenty of open green space where campers can roam, play, and spread out throughout the day.

With multiple trailheads on campus, campers also head into Larus Park regularly as part of the camp experience. The park offers rocks to climb, a creek to splash and explore, and shaded woods that stay cool on warm summer afternoons. Together, our campus and the park create a rich outdoor environment where movement, imagination, and classic summer play are part of every week.

Preschool Day Camp is designed to feel safe, familiar, and joyful for our youngest learners. With trusted teachers, consistent routines, and a play-centered approach, children experience summer days that feel closely aligned with their school-year preschool experience, while still offering the freedom and ease of the summer season.

  • Familiar Friends, Familiar Teachers

Preschool Day Camp is open exclusively to Sabot preschool students and is led by Sabot preschool teachers. Children spend their days with familiar peers and trusted adults who know them well, creating a strong sense of continuity between the school year and summer. This consistency helps children feel safe, known, and confident as they move through each day.

  • A Play-Centered, Reggio-Inspired Approach

While formal documentation pauses during the summer months, the underlying mindset remains the same. Teachers continue to observe closely, follow children’s interests, and offer materials and experiences that invite curiosity, exploration, and connection. The days are intentionally unhurried, allowing children time to play deeply, experiment with creative materials, and learn through relationships and shared discovery.

  • A Gentle Rhythm for Summer Days

Just like during the school year, preschoolers experience a predictable daily rhythm supported by school-day hours and familiar routines. Summer brings a slightly gentler flow, with plenty of time for outdoor play, creative work, rest, and transitions that honor the needs of young children. This balance supports independence while maintaining a sense of security and calm.

  • Outdoor Exploration for Young Campers

Preschoolers enjoy time across our campus and in nearby Larus Park throughout the summer. Playground time, open grassy areas, and garden spaces are woven into each day, along with walks on shaded trails and opportunities to explore near the creek. These outdoor experiences feel adventurous while remaining well suited to our youngest campers, adding joy, confidence, and a growing sense of discovery to their summer days.

K–5 Day Camp is rooted in the idea of summer as it used to be. Days are full, active, and balanced, with time to create, explore, play outdoors, and build real friendships. • Small Groups, Strong Relationships

Because campers join us for multiweek sessions, close-knit groups naturally form over time. Campers are grouped in small cohorts led by a consistent counselor pair, with low student-to-teacher ratios that support strong relationships and dependable care. Each group has its own homeroom and designated space that serves as a familiar home base throughout the session.

  • A Day That Balances Structure and Play

Mornings are spent in hands-on, themed sessions designed to spark curiosity and creativity. Afternoons shift into Summer Like It Used to Be, with time for water play, field day games, large inflatables, arts and crafts, and open-ended outdoor play that feels joyful and unstructured in the best way.

  • Outdoor Play, Every Day

Outdoor time is a central part of the K–5 day camp experience, made possible by our expansive campus and direct access to Larus Park. Campers move between playgrounds, the soccer field, open green spaces, and the park’s trail system throughout the week. Climbing on rocks, exploring near the creek, and spending long stretches outside adds energy and variety to each day, while giving campers the freedom to move, collaborate, and play together.

  • Creating Together

A Sabot Summer is full of making. In addition to themed projects and daily arts and crafts, campers also collaborate on a large-scale art installation for the campus, designed in partnership with our Atelierista, Paige. This shared project grows over the course of the session and becomes a visible reflection of creativity, collaboration, and community built throughout the summer.
