Parachute Collaboration

We just finished working with the parachute in K-3rd PE – it’s always one of the kids favorite activities! In addition to the colorful, playful nature of the parachute, it’s also a great way to work collaboratively. Especially when coming up with strategies to get something off of the parachute or how to make a big tent that the entire class can fit under. This year, each class also decided they wanted to pull me around on the parachute which took a lot of teamwork. After one of the parachute sessions they chose to make a tunnel for each other to run through. I look forward to the parachute each year and seeing the students’ creativity since no two classes ever choose to use it in exactly the same ways.
