Sil has a personal background in dance and theatre arts. They were able to gain many years experience in these fields when living in North Carolina. Sil worked as a teacher's assistant at a dance studio and as a children's program assistant at a local theatre. Sil moved back to Richmond to attend Virginia Commonwealth University to study photography and film. Sil is inspired by the boundless creative expression in children. Sil hopes to encourage this with their artistic background. They believe art is a wonderful tool for education and personal expression and can't wait to see what their students can discover and create together. Outside of work, Sil is a community event organizer. They organize and participate in experimental music shows, film screenings, and poetry readings. Sil is a poet, photographer, and film lover. They love spending time in nature with friends and family and can be found hiking, camping, and biking.
