Preschool
Records and recommendations are not required for preschool applicants.
Kindergarten
Records for Kindergarten applicants will be requested by Sabot from studentsʼ previous schools.
Grades 1-8
Families are asked to provide Student Records and one or more Recommendations as a part of the application. Rising Middle School students also complete a student questionnaire.
The parent interview is a time for the Admissions team to meet with parents to get to know your family, to discuss your educational goals, to answer questions, and to review next steps.
Applicant Visit
Once the application and school documentation are received, Sabot will reach out to schedule a visit.
Preschool and Kindergarten applicants are scheduled in small groups for a visit. The children participate in various activities with members of our lower school faculty. (Note: Applicants under two years of age will not be scheduled for a classroom visit. The admissions office will be in touch with you about other ways for us to get to know our youngest applicants.)
Applicants applying for grades 1-8 are paired with a peer mentor and experience a shadow day as a part of the Sabot community.
Assessment
Preschool - grade 3 applicants will participate in an informal assessment during their applicant visit. Applicants for grades 4 - 8 will participate in an online, adaptive assessment, which will be administered on the afternoon of the applicant visit date.
We do not require any outside testing; however, if we feel more information would be useful to the process, additional testing may be requested.
