Help us complete a home for knowledge & community.

From our Reggio-inspired teaching to our passion for igniting wonder, we’ve been A Small School for Big Change for over a decade. Now, as our model has proven effective and our student body is expanding, we need your help to continue growing Sabot’s home. Our lower and middle school students now occupy the first floor of Honor Hall and are truly excited to be in their new learning spaces where they continue to thrive, map their own educational journey and become the best versions of themselves. Your contribution will do more than buildout the lower level classrooms and middle school science lab, it will provide the space for our students' curiosity to soar.

When you make a donation to the Where the Heart Is campaign, you are not simply funding a building; you are funding community cohesion, pride of place and promises for our children’s future - enhancing our community and their wonder.

Your kindness in supporting today will help us complete the second phase and helps ensure that Sabot can continue our mission for decades to come in these new learning spaces.

Please donate today and help support Sabot's growing home. You may gift in honor or memory of a current or former student or teacher, or gift in honor of a loved one.

The New Building – What’s Up? It has been a long, hot summer and much progress has been made on the building – even if it may not look like it! So what exactly has been going on since school ended in June? There have been five major projects completed in the past ten weeks. Retaining wall

This long-anticipated campus improvement is possible because of the generosity of our community. A community that believes in how we do school. A community that believes in our future. A community that believes in children. We are taking a phased approach to construction. With fundraising and financing in place, the first phase will include the site improvements, the building envelope, and the ten classrooms on the main level. Once more funds are raised, we can begin the second phase of the project, which will outfit the six classrooms on the lower level. This phased approach will keep the project moving forward and allow us to move into the building sooner. We expect the first phase of construction to take approximately one year. So the construction will start, but the fundraising is not finished.

Fund-A-Cause 2023

Beautifying and improving our outdoor spaces for community

Sabot has always been about community and relationships. Sabot knows the importance of gathering together. As our school evolves, we know we need more options for gathering spaces – spaces for collaboration, problem-solving, documentation and excitement – where students, faculty and staff and families alike can sit, visit, discover and enjoy the uniquely beautiful landscape that is Sabot's campus.

Our learning environments include the whole campus – the beautiful outdoor spaces that students explore and discover every day. Learning happens in the forest, in the Grow Community Garden, on the playground, and over lunch with friends.  The opportunity to be in and a part of the outdoors is essential to our educational approach. The 2023 Fund-a-Cause was initiated to develop the following shared community outdoor spaces. With our community’s support, italicized efforts have either been completed or will begin in the Spring of 2024.

  • A covered pavilion between the playground and soccer field.  A place with dedicated lunch seating, space for physical education activities, a gathering spot for our Stay and Play food truck meetups, and parent coffees.

  • The Grow Community Garden Project - a space used by all classes at Sabot and one of our sustainability projects. Completed Fall 2023: replaced the decaying raised beds with metal bleacher seats, built a new gate on the back side of the garden and installed new galvanized deer fencing for the entire perimeter of the garden.

  • An amphitheater located in the forest just beyond the Haha wall would serve as a gathering place for classes, concerts, and theater productions for the Sabot community and beyond.

  • A multi-sport area creates a space where students can engage in a variety of physical activities, promoting health and teamwork. Updating and resurfacing the tennis court to accommodate activities such as pickleball, four-square, basketball and tennis is scheduled for Spring 2024.

  • Build up the piazza in front of Honor Hall with benches for gathering, landscaping, flowerbeds, and grassy areas. The beginning step to revitalizing the area will begin in the Spring of 2024 and includes adjusting the drain height and leveling the area for future landscaping and sitting areas.

Please donate today and help us raise the much-needed funding to expand and deepen our children’s learning experiences here at this beautiful school of wonder.
