Mike comes to Sabot with a diverse background of experience in mathematics, education, and counseling. He sometimes describes himself as a learning nomad, always fueled with a passion to keep learning, keep improving, and keep helping others. He has a BS degree in mathematics education and educational psychology, and three Masters degrees: counselor education from the University of Mississippi, Applied Analysis from Clemson University, and Epidemiology from the Medical University of South Carolina. 

Outside of formal academia, Mike cherishes his wonderful 26 years with his soulmate Reb, and being a father to his two grown sons. Creatively he enjoys, singing, composing, acting and performing. Mike’s stress relief is cooking and baking, but finds true tranquility and spirituality in nature. 

Mike feels so deeply in the Sabot way, and he is excited about becoming a member of our learning community and continuing his goal of being a life-long learner.
