Originally from Connecticut, Maddie graduated from the University of Mary Washington with her Bachelor of Science in Psychological Science. Throughout college, she completed student teaching positions in grades K-6. Since graduating, she has nannied for several families and managed a sensory play space in Fredericksburg, VA, with a Reggio approach where play is considered a fundamental part of learning.

Maddie believes in the importance of allowing children to be active in their own learning and works to foster an environment where the child is confident to do so. She focuses on creating connections, building community, and emphasizes a safe classroom environment. Outside of teaching, she loves gardening, reading, and spending time with her cats, Stevie and Moe.
