Jamie Lahy

Jamie is excited to be joining the Sabot Community as he enters his 16th year as an educator. He enjoys working with all types of learners by helping them to find their strengths, overcome their weaknesses, and find joy in learning.

Jamie holds a B.S from Clemson University with a focus on Equine Science, a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction of Secondary Science with an emphasis in Biology, and was endorsed in Special Education through the University of Virginia. He earned a graduate certificate and endorsement in Gifted Education through James Madison University.

His students have received national recognition and were awarded the Presidential Environmental Youth Award by the White House. They were also awarded the Green Difference Award which was presented in Boston (both for their work with sustainability, hydroponics, and aquaculture).

Outside of the classroom Jamie breeds and shows National Specialty winning Norwich Terriers; he is most proud of his dog Jam-Jam, one of the first recognized Distinguished Therapy Dogs by the AKC. Jam-Jam logged over 400 volunteer visits to libraries where he helped young children develop their reading skills.
